How do I play?

Frontier is an island-building strategy game: settle the board, gather resources on each dice roll, trade with other players, and build your way to 10 renown to win. You can play three ways:

  • Solo vs bots — easy, medium or hard AI. No account needed.
  • Pass-and-play — one device, passed around the table. No account needed.
  • Online rooms — play with friends across devices, live or turn-by-turn over hours or days.

Do I need an account?

No — solo and pass-and-play work straight away with no sign-up. You only need an account for online play, the leaderboard and the Elo ladder, and to carry your progress across devices. You can sign in with an email link or password, or with Google or Apple.

How do “your turn” notifications work?

In an online game that runs over time, we can send a push notification when it becomes your turn, so a bot doesn’t take your move. Enable notifications in Settings; you can turn them off there at any time.

What is photo-to-avatar?

It’s an optional way to turn a photo into a stylised avatar for your profile. It’s entirely opt-in. Photos are processed to generate the avatar and are not stored — see our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account or data?

Open Settings and choose Delete account to remove your account and associated data. If you can’t sign in, email us at forgearc.support@gmail.com and we’ll handle it for you.

Is Frontier free?

Yes. Frontier is free to play, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
